Tension escalated in the Matiabruj area following the death of a 17-year-old, transforming the locality into a battleground. The unrest began when the hanging body of the youth was discovered on Saturday in the Matiabruj police station area. Family members assert that the teenager was murdered, and his body was hanged.
Upon the return of the girl's body to the area after post-mortem, locals staged a protest, blocking the road and demanding the arrest of the alleged culprits. As the police attempted to disperse the crowd obstructing the road, clashes erupted between law enforcement and the agitated locals, resulting in injuries to two policemen. The mob also set fire to a police vehicle during the confrontation. A murder case under Section 302 has been registered, and the police have arrested three individuals linked to the violent incident.
